Journeys · Kilimanjaro
Africa’s highest summit, earned slowly.
A trek to 5,895 metres is not a race to the top — it is a journey through every climate zone, made safe by acclimatisation and a team that walks with you.

The proposition
Climb high, sleep low, summit at dawn.
Kilimanjaro asks for one thing above all: patience. The route you choose, the pace you keep and the acclimatisation built into each day decide whether the summit feels possible. We build every trek around the “climb high, sleep low” principle, with a full support team — guides, assistant guides, porters, and emergency oxygen — so that what remains demanding is also manageable. No invented guarantees: the mountain decides the summit. Our job is to give you the best possible chance of reaching it, well.
Four routes
A route for every pace and experience.
Each route approaches the mountain differently — in length, scenery, difficulty and acclimatisation. We help you choose by your time, your fitness and how much solitude you want.
Lemosho
A longer, scenic western approach with excellent acclimatisation. The choice of trekkers who want the most considered route.
Machame
The classic scenic route through every ecological zone — demanding, but richly rewarding.
Rongai
The only northern approach — quieter and drier, a good option in the long rainy season.
Marangu
The only route with hut accommodation and the shortest approach — the most accessible, with a tighter acclimatisation window.

What the trek feels like.
Preparation & acclimatisation
Fitness, gear and the mountain’s rules.
Altitude can affect anyone, regardless of fitness. We brief you honestly and monitor you closely.
Fitness
A solid cardiovascular base and several months of preparation. Some trekking experience helps — we advise on a training plan.
Acclimatisation
Longer routes give your body more time to adjust. Our guides monitor you each day and adjust the pace to how you feel.
Gear
A proper layering system, rated sleeping bag, broken-in boots and headlamp. We provide a full kit list before you travel.
Support team
Certified guides, assistant guides, an experienced porter team, emergency oxygen and first aid on every trek.
Who the journey suits
Motivated trekkers, not mountaineers.
You do not need to be a climber. You need to be reasonably fit, prepared to train, and willing to let the mountain set the pace. We will help you choose the route that matches your experience and the days you have.
Extensions
Add a safari, or the coast.
Many travellers pair the climb with a few days on safari, or recover afterwards on the Zanzibar coast. A trek followed by the Indian Ocean is one of the great East African combinations.
