The Destination

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire is Tanzania's most underrated national park — a sweeping landscape of ancient baobab trees, miombo woodland, and the life-giving Tarangire River that draws extraordinary concentrations of wildlife during the dry season.

Between June and October, elephants come from as far as 100 kilometres away to drink at the river, forming herds of 200 or more in a single gathering. This is elephant country on a scale that even the Serengeti cannot match.

Beyond elephants, Tarangire hosts the endemic Ashy Starling, large prides of lion, leopard, and enormous python populations. AT ONE combines day drives with walking safaris and exclusive mobile camps deep inside the park.

The Wildlife

What You Will
Encounter

Elephant

Tarangire hosts Tanzania's greatest dry-season elephant concentrations — herds of 200+ are not uncommon.

Lion

Large, relaxed prides exploit the dense prey base. Tree-climbing lions are occasionally seen in the northern sector.

Python

Tarangire has one of Africa's highest python densities — regularly spotted draped through acacia branches.

Oryx & Fringe-eared Oryx

Tarangire is one of the last strongholds for this elegant antelope in northern Tanzania.

Bat-eared Fox

Commonly seen in family groups in the open grasslands, particularly in the late afternoon.

Over 550 Bird Species

A top birding destination — yellow-collared lovebirds, hornbills, and the endemic Ashy Starling.
