Ruaha National Park
Ruaha is Tanzania's largest national park and arguably its most rewarding — a sweeping landscape of ancient baobab forests, the Great Ruaha River, and some of the most spectacular lion populations remaining in Africa.
This is remote Africa at its finest. Ruaha sees a fraction of the visitors that the northern parks attract — game drives feel genuinely solitary, and the wildlife is more relaxed for it. Lion prides of 20 or more have been documented here; wild dog and cheetah are more regularly encountered than in most East African parks.
